Freud started asking about the nature of psychological processes. It is a theory of 3 different things. Psychopathology: abnormal behaviors, he was trained as a medical doctor because of lack of psychological training. Personality: normal behavior. v video: biography of freud. Went to paris in 1885. Led him to study the psyche more than the physical state. Saw the effects of hypnosis. Freud learned, from here, about the unconscious. Began as a hypnotist. Tried to end hysteria through hypnotic suggestion. Freud was intrigued with why this didn"t work. Talking therapy: alleviates some of symptoms.
