Anxiety disorders generalized anxiety disorder: unexplainably tense & worried, no specific threat or danger. With tension/fatigue/irritability/restlessness phobic disorders: irrational fear of specific object or situation. Explaining mood disorders psychoanalytical: unconscious conflicts, anger turns inward to produce depression biological: depression genetic predispositions, neurotransmitter abnormalities social-cognitive: negative thoughts influence biochemical events creating a cycle of depression.
