Document Summary

Justice: could contribute equally to study, and receive equally from study. For the most part, there is a lot of respect for animals. Approximately 91% are rodents (mice, rats) and fish! Increasing use of zebrafish and drosophila (fruit flies) Majority of studies (nearly 70%) involve no or minor/short-term discomfort. There are many protocols in which are required to be assessed to ensure maximum comfort and minimum stress are experienced by animals. We share a lot of diseases with animals. Needs to be some form of proof that the studies will be helpful to humans. So any research towards a disease that affects animals will also, in one way or another help animals too. Interrater: how well two rater"s observations relate to one another. E. g. , if two raters were assessing how attached an infant should. Assessing reliability - alternate forms and split half. Alternate forms: two different tests with differently asked questions. Split half: every other question is reverse-scored.
