Document Summary

In general, we tend to focus on the cues that are easy to control. We tend to ignore the cues that are hard to control. Facial expressions, voice pitch, hesitations, eye movement. There is some researches showing that the eye movements of people who are lying is different from who are rememorizing. Personal attribution: personality characteristics situational attribution: the person is aggressive because somebody else has yelled him first. When people are making inference, they based on three general factors: Lower degree of choice more about the situation, and less about the person does he like reading books so he is in the library. This can also because the final exam is coming up so he is in the library. Eg: we tend to think that people can shave everywhere (have more choices), but people ignores the fact that other people do not have those choices. The weird behavior is very representative for who the person is.
