[Qualitative Data Collection – INTERVIEWING (asking)] - Interview seeks to address the limitations posed by qualitative observation. Observations mostly can’t assess whatever that is hidden such as:  Attitude  Motivation  Past  feelings [3 TYPES OF INTERVIEW] 1) Formal: structured, have specific things to know  Informant interview, respondent inteview 2) Semi-formal: fairly structured  Narrative interview 3) Informal: unstructured  Ethnographic interview [TYPES OF QUESTIONS] - Experience and Behavior: what someone does - Opinions, values, feelings: what someone feels/believes - Knowledge: factual information that interviewee has in mind - Sensory: what someone hears/touches/tastes/smells - Background/Demographic: race/ethnicit
