Significant social change in research/measurement/disapproval & sanctions of crimes against women. Deviance which may have strong public disapproval & sanctions (societal deviance) yet may not be seen deviant within certain local situations & hence will not incur disapproval/sanction. Relates to subcultural theory-whereby deviant act such as theft/drug use among certain populations may be seen as normal. Deviance that relates to specific context/subculture (acts which otherwise may receive considerable societal disapproval & sanction in one context are accepted in another) - subcultural theory of crime. Role playing i. e. one person dominant over the other (submissive) Play/scene/session: to engage in bdsm activities, "in the scene": to be involved in kink community. Squick: to be repulsed/disgusted; "your kink is not my kink, but your kink is ok" Rack: risk aware consensual kink -foundational component of community. Not everyone likes same kinds of sensations. Participants aim to minimise physical & emotional harm. * sensory deprivation: taking away someone"s sight, hearing, etc.
