Early house development --> 25 years later the houses and the churches disappear. 1889-1914 --> replaced by mix of denser housing, office, commerce and industry (e. g. offices, hotels, steam laundry, temples) This may lead to a number of neighbors not being entirely happy about the different zonings. Present day --> now there aren"t any old houses left, but there are 9 heritage properties that replaced the old houses (the houses range from 1906-1914) Creates an interesting mix between old buildings and new high- rises. From coast salish communities --> musqueam, squamish, tsleil- Waututh (that still exist today), however, we are occupying the land before it was actually colonized. Became the hudson bay company trading post, then moved towards royally, recognize and formalized theft (officially became the royals, all belongs to the crown) Then became commodification for sale --> the boundaries are applied and now sold off for sale.
