The main problem of the empire was the control of all of its cities and people. There was an immense amount of wealth going into rome because of its successfulness in its expansion. In the empire there was a huge range of theatrical acts/performance culture. 240 bce- many romans into greek tragedies and plays, came in contact with more of greek culture. 240 bce- the beginning of the roman theatre, although roman theatre/plays have already starting acting. Ludi romani (festival)- honored jupiter- chief of the gods. Theatre one of many entertainments at the festival. Eutrucian plays- one of the main focus was music, and many shows and acts were accompanied by music. Introduce of gladiatorial events- they were part of funeral events any mistake/error/irregularity during the festival resulted in the repetition of the whole festival. Atellan farce- mocked historical figure, stereotyped figures, and dearth with family members.
