Human nature has always had the urge to record things and visual representations. Painting has always had a part in our history. Paintings should reference to how people should feel about their society, their beliefs, etc. Rich people"s things were a way to show art. The food would be left there and left until it rotthen replaced. Through lens and photographingit made it so people could capture the world much fast and easier. Photographs couldn"t really show too much meaning behind it. Painting is about the medium and the substance of the characters itself. Medium is the material used to create an object or art whatever it is made our of is its medium. When you go to a gallery, the little label beside the work will relay its medium. Oil on canvas, tempera on wood, c-print, giclee print, etc. Every medium has a unique characteristics and medium specificity understands.
