From the moment we are born, our interaction first start off with our family which are the most important agent of our socialization. Parents are expected to love, care, and protect their children which is part of biosocial system. Children learn the most important feature of socialization, such as language, how to do something like eating and personal hygiene, and how to behave in society. From functionalist perspective, parents role in their children"s development is to protect, support, and guide their children for them to become responsible and independent human being. If parents do not play a role of supportive and protective parent, then children tend to have lack of attachment and do not feel secure in their hands of their parents. Secondly, school is another primary agent of socialization where children spend most of their time being taught the cultural knowledge that is passed from generation to the another.
