Similarly, the role of electronic data in invesigaive work has realize exponenial growth in the last decade. The usage of computers and other electronic data storage devices: leaves the footprints and data trails of their users. Computer forensics involves the: 1) preservaion of informaion, 2) acquisiion of informaion, 3) extracion of informaion, 4) interpretaion of informaion. In today"s world of technology, many devices are capable of storing data and could thus be grouped into the ield of computer forensics: ipods, phones, usbs, etc. Hardware: the physical components of a computer: case, keyboards, motherboard, monitor, hard drives, cpu, ram, etc, anything you can touch .
