Forms upper part of orbits and coronal suture with parietal bones. Location: bulging top of the cranium, behind the frontal bone. Features: form several sutures, lambdois suture (with occipital bone) squamous suture (with temporal bone and part of sphenoid), coronal suture (with frontal bone) Location: lower sides of cranium and cranium floor. Features: houses middle and inner ear structures and mastoid sutures. Location: lower, posterior part of the skull.
