Openings so that blood does not have to go to the lungs ^ Cyanotic blue tinge of the skin, more severe. Acyanotic normal colour of the skin. Abnormal flow of blood to left side to right side or vice versa. Left side of the heart oxygenated flows to the right side of the heart.
