> Why is copyright important?
It is important for us to know the roots and where the concept is coming from. The
comtemporary importance is to look at when the copyright expires. So the works enters
public domain. Meaning there is NO MORE COPYRIGHT PROTECTION. Anyone can
exercise rights outlined in s.2 without licsening and infringments. It basically becomes
NO ONE’S PROPERTY. This is why COPYRIGHT is important. As the public, we
benefited it by sharing the material, increase of knowledge, increase of culture, free
access to those who couldn’t access it before. We as the public can use those works,
meaning we can use these works to expand the foundation of our knowledge.
History of copyright has different jurisdictions. Ex: England and Canada.
