Socializaion: process by which children acquire the beliefs, values, and behaviors considered desirable or appropriate by the society to which they belong, ideniicaion. Psychological process in which children try to look, act, feel, and be like signiicant people in their social environment. Gender ideniicaion idenify with same sex parent. Children come to behave in ways that give clear indicaion of their sex. 2-3 years children aquire and start to use gender labels. 3 years gender segregated play: girls develop somewhat earlier than boys, show a great signiicance for diferent preferences for gender speciic toys. 5-7 years old children understand gender is unchanging.
