First nations refers both to those who have status under the indian act and those who do not. Native original term for three groups of people discussed in the constitution: first. Indigenous most accepted term for aboriginal people and is accepted in the international discussion. Has a connotation of a shared oppression caused by colonization. Government act that administers indian status, local first nations governments and how reserve land and finances are managed. Types of groups in the indigenous population: traditional, traditional and mainstream, non-traditional. Indigenous communities usually group together within these boundaries. Always under revision and modification by new generations. Web of relationships between humans, plants, animals, natural forces, spirits, and land forms. Very important aspect of the spirituality of indigenous people.
