Traits: recurring trends in people"s responses to their environment. Cultural values: shared beliefs about desirable end states or modes of conduct in a given culture that inluence the expression of traits. Ability: relaively stable capabiliies of people for performing a paricular range of related aciviies. Dimension of personality-relecing traits like being dependable, organized, reliable, ambiious, hard-working, and persevering. Accomplishment striving: a strong desire to accomplish task-related goals as a means of expressing one"s personality. Dimension of personality-relecing traits like being kind, cooperaive, sympatheic, helpful, courteous, and warm. Communion striving: a strong desire to obtain acceptance in personal relaionships as a means of expressing one"s personality. Dimension of personality-relecing traits like being nervous, moody, emoional, insecure, jealous, and unstable.
