Reengineering: fundamental rethinking and radical redesign of business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in cost, quality, service and speed. Reactive change: change that occurs after external forces have already affected performance vs. proactive change: competing, recruiting, and staffing globally. Globalization: trend to opening up foreign markets to international trade and investment. Need to be aware of cultural differences, governments, labour standards, language, etc: corporate social responsibility and sustainability goals, advancing hrm with technology.
