Retirement income is linked to waged labour: lesser income for your retirement. Non-waged labour is carried out predominantly by women not considered labour: division of labour, trying to figure out what the portion is with reference. Pensions are grounded in conception of family status as permanent having a to gdp breadwinner : over the course of a lifetime, jobs, living style, etc, always preparing for the pension. Process: attitudes towards and preparation for retirement: social and economic process, doesn"t always happen nicely. Single retirement: sole employed spouse (usually male) retires: spouse under your foot, help with older couples in previous generations, potential, going to do something and their time. Desynchronized wife initially: rare that the female retires first could be related to health or caregiving issues: women are more likely to volunteer and participate in their community in a much more wholesome way. Synchronized both employed spouses retire at the same time: more sex, relate to each others transitions, vacation.
