I learned that there was no league play for kainai youth because they were banned from participating in minor hockey in southern alberta. Thus they threatened to pull their teams out of the league if kainai remained a member of it. Kainai to be part of their sport associations because they want nothing to do with kainai. Historical context: these attitudes and beliefs towards the other are grounded in centuries of misunderstanding, racism, and intolerance.
