Ancient games included champions and losers, bitter rivalries and contests of strength and savage combat. Spectators went to these games for blood (vicious beatings). Winners are known as sons of the gods. Gymnasium in south western greece (2,500 years ago) men are at war in a brutal combat between boxing and wrestling called pankration. People who would watch these games: the athlete"s trainers official judges professional poets *make or break a stars reputation (reporters of their day) Waiting for past 4 years shrines dedicated to zeus becomes the location for olympic games some people would attend olympia for the religious aspects and others would do it to see the best athletes in the world. By 448 bc olympic games are at least 300 years old. But grew by 448 bc more than a dozen games have been added for men. Games that were offered then: javelin discus throwing boxing.
