Mammals: whales: eat plankton, open their mouth and take in lots of water/fish/plankton, then the floor of their mouth goes down and the tongue pushes the water up to leave the mouth (leaving only fish/plankton), Other kinds have fanons (thin teeth) in the inferior jaw. Carnivores: articulation of the inferior jaw of the head at the same level as the row of teeth, hinge articulation (eating)
