When you list species, list when they are in trouble, don"t really remove species. Hard to get a whole panel to evaluate. Species number keeps going up because it"s so hard to get a species off. Need to deal with the cause of pressure like ddt on the peregrine falcon. When looking at proportion of extinction, should see small changes but rates have gone up. Every type of measurement show that it is much higher than background rate. This is cumulative so the background rate will show the natural extinction accumulation. Measurement of how quickly the species will go extinct. Remember this is from millions of years to 2000-10,000. So the conservative / highly conservative error bar is highly accurate (species life expectancy usually 100,000 - 1,000,000.
