Document Summary

Lecture 12 - mammals and then stem cells. At first the blob looks kinda silly and random --> after 24h there inner cell mass and hypoblast. In mouse, only contact with sperm in embryo. Lining will wrap around developing embryo and make layers. Check the tree chart thing to see where structures are derived from. Yolk sac but we don"t need yolk - ancestral. Endoderm is first cells to enter and migrate, push away the hypoblast. The primative streak with the grove, the mesoderm fills in (cells like the filling between cookies) Video on youtube 04- gastrulation, maybe can find. Node called hensen"s node, mammals just called the node. Will reach a bit farther but not ever all the way. Convergent extension will move together to move primitive streak in anterior direction. Fetal does not combine with the maternal - don"t want mixing. Foreign entity to mother so don"t want mixing and immune response.
