Document Summary

Sex determined by how hot the sex was. Man for hot sex, woman for tame sex -->mutilated male. Nuclear component not environment, found in observational studies in insects. Defined by genotype, sex chromosomes, in humans it is xy vs xx. All fetuses start with bipotential gonad, sexually indifferent. In males, mullerian duct disintegrates and wolffian stay. Like xxy, klinefelter syndrome, y is present = male. On y there is a gene called sry, will turn on autosomal sox 9 (autosomal is the other 22 chromosomes) Lots of factors downstream like amh anti mullarian hormone, disintergrate mullarian duct. Sertoli cells responsible for stem cell niche, the other one gives rise to sperm cells. After primary is done, gonads start producing hormonal factors --> outside, secondary sexual stuff. Can look at slides for physical structure formation. Most tissue is mesodermal tissue giving rise to those structures. See germ cells in cell, in testes make sperm, ladies make eggs.
