Document Summary

Xenophanes was contributed to being the creator of the study of knowledge , and theology. Homers poetic passage questions, or is an observation of how the actions of gods are similar to that of humans, in the sense that they steal or lie to each other and to humans. And then he talks about how human beings see their gods as a human form, born in the same type of bodies and have male, female and similar characteristics that are found in humans. Since each group projected the gods as their own characteristics or form, the ultimate conclusion that can be reached is that the gods are not similar to humans as they"re all simply projections of the humans. Xenophanes came to the conclusion that there aren"t many gods, and there is only one. He stopped viewing the gods as in human forms, and therefore the true divine god is only one.
