Relational Development: The process of moving from one stage to another as a relationship moves
toward or away from greater intimacy.
Turning Point: A specific event or interaction associated with positive or negative changes in a
Causal Turning Point: An event that brings about a change in a relationship.
Reflective Turning Point: An event that signals a change in the way a relationship is defined.
