Self defence a justification defence: when an individual commits a crime but they are doing it because they are defending themselves, another person, or their property. They have no other way to get out of a situation or survive. As he went to walk away she shot him (went up to the supreme court) Entrapment they did the crime but they were persuaded because of the actions of a police officer. Too much coercion and persuasion to commit the offence. It can only be used for the crime of murder! They are not acquitted they just get manslaughter instead of first and second degree murder. Aggregating factors they can increase their sentence (ex. being a repeated offender or the fact that they had planned it out)
