Crime politics , ideology and the allocation of value. Cohens article sets up the entire class, regarding the relationship between crime and politics. Large relationship due to idealogoy, and big scale ideologies. What is important, how we allocate alue, based n how hard you work, how rich you get. Or if we allocate value based on what we put back into the world. All related to what we think of as crime and problematic. Homeless people are sitting in front of buildings at night, people are scared, they are drinking etc. how do we respond to that. You could regulate: homeless can"t sit in front of stores, move them to specific areas. Vagrency was criminal, out wandering in the evening if you are female. If oyu have money in your pocket you couldbe a prostitute. Single, unemployed on social assistance, you could live. We didn"t see it as a problem of bad individuals.
