The king"s court: trial by wager was replaced by trial by jury. Grand assize: body of men would go out and discover potential illegal acts and give charges accordingly; they would obtain the accused and bring to king"s court; grand assize could include people in petite assize. Petite assize: otherwise known as jury ; were given task of judging the accused. *jury was only available in the king"s court. The jury could be put on trial if they king did not agree with their verdict. Deciding a verdict that the king did not agree with was considered an act of perjury. Accused would be judged in front of a 24-person jury. Being on the jury, it is more likely to give a conviction to appease the king.
