The la(cid:449) auto(cid:373)ati(cid:272)ally li(cid:373)its o(cid:374)e"s goals: ca(cid:374)"t pursue your o(cid:449)(cid:374) self-interest. Purpose of the law is to get together and form this contract: give up some and get more, give up violence as citizens but give the state the force of violence. Protects the person more even though you give up using violence. We obey the criminal law because its in our own self-interest. Give the state the monopoly use of violence/force. So they can punish the people that use violence.
