Historical reflections (violence against women has been framed more recently as a social problem and as a problem. It has been recognized and has been embedded in our history for a very long time. Fairly re(cid:272)e(cid:374)tly vaw is per(cid:272)ei(cid:448)ed as a(cid:374) issue. We still have a lot of racism and arguably our sensitivity towards vaw is regulatory and constrained. Ex: telling women not to walk home at night. Feminism/criminology/sociology (the theory of criminology gives us a sense of the limits of the cjs and solutions that are based on intervention.
