Special populations in federal prisons: female prisoners, indigenous prisoners. Women in prison: 3% of female prison sentences are for violent offences. High needs/ low risk offenders: 29% of federal sentences for drug offences, 15%fsw had previous federal sentence, 80% of fsw have been sexually abused, almost 34% of fsw are aboriginal.
