Each legislation has its own philosophy and limitations, reasons we adopted a new legislation, we can tie some politically. Crime rates against youth; overall decline in youth crime rate trends, macro perspective is youth crime has been declining. Contrary to the media and popular belief, crime has been decreasing. Most common offence for youth is property offences, theft under 5,000$, this has been decreasing. Incarceration for youth has declined, 26% since 2010. Of these the majority are older (age 16 & 17) and 91% are incarcerated for 6 months and under. When conviction occurs, probation is the most common outcome. Legal age of criminality: 15yr old: sentence: phycologist was assigned to the children, still integrated in the community, perception of family of victims: the mother has forgiven them. Childhood is a social construction that is a stage of life that defers from being an adult. Children were sent away from home to go work in trading, farming.
