1. In a rectangular channel, the bed width is equal to 4m and the discharge is 22.5
m3/s. The channel has two long parts with slopes S01=0.0004 and S02=0.009 and
Manning’s coefficients n1=0.015 and n2=0.012. Identify the type of water surface
profile along the channel.
Solution
I. Calculate the normal flow for both section of the channel
