ENG 1100 Lecture 5: Lecture 5 - Workshop
Document Summary
1a: today we are living, for better and for worse, in a world of stupid games. (anderson 65). For better and for worse in the 2nd paragraph makes it clear that regardless of the reader"s opinion of these games and their purpose, the games will remain present. Stupid games, on the other hand, are rarely occasions in themselves. (anderson 66). The use of on the other hand in the final paragraph, compares and switches the topic from pre-tetris games which required more concentration, to these stupid games which the author suggests holds no significance and has become a distraction. In this context, he is building up the more complex games pre-tetris and arguing against the new stupid games of the past 30 years. I tried to think about what if anything, i had learned from this window into my brain. (anderson 68).
