She is telling us things that are potentially very negative about herself. She has travelled around to finally arrive here in atlanta in the new world. The next door neighbour - the father beat her daughter to death for being in love with someone and crossing cultural boundaries. She takes it to mean that love must be painful otherwise its not real loveit has to hurt you some way for it to be true love. She learns from the incident that true love is violent. James is 65 but he is rich he treats her really nice and makes her feel really special he takes good care of his body. He waits 2 weeks to call her and then they go out to lunch. He casually puts arms around her she doesn"t like that. He says i"ve been thinking about you he pays for lunch. She can"t stop thinking about and she is consumed by himwaiting for his call.
