Document Summary
The ability to write a proper e-mail is one of the most underrated skills in the business world. After all, most of us already use e-mail ever(cid:455) da(cid:455). Most managers will read and respond to hundreds of e-mails every week. For this reason, it(cid:859)s important to make sure that your e- mails are clear, easy-to-read and memorable; at the same time, you never want your e-mails to stand out as bizarre, illiterate or inappropriate. Worst of all, if your e-mails are hard-to-read, your boss may delegate the task of reading your e-mail to somebody else. Whenever this happens, you run the risk of having your ideas stolen or ignored. In other words, all your hard work will mean nothing if you are unable to communicate effectively. By following some basic guidelines and rules-of-thumb, you should be able to stand out in a positive way and communicate through e-mail in an efficient and effective manner.
