Beatrice"s love transports danet from the world of the ordinary to the celestial. 3 parts: "real world"", experiences of the youngster on his 1st trip to "heaven"", reaction of his parents and mr. bons upon return [the adults] & recounts a final trip. Strangeness of the signpost and the curiousity it inspires. His mother can only tell that a young poet wrote the sign- named shelley. [shelley was a romantic poet, same era as keats, byron, woolsworth, revolutionized poetry, moved focus away from reason, placed a greater emphasis on the world of the imagination. Percy shelley thought that dante;s poetry was the bridge between the modern world and the medieval ages. ]
