She seems to be in control and he is the submissive (at first) He seems to be less sure about her love for him. She seems to know where the relationship is going. Not explicit that the lover is male. Serves as a justification to kill her. She loves him but is too weak to act upon it. One so pale he is 3rd person pov again. All in vain love doesn"t matter, he has to kill her.
