Relationship between humans and nature: natural environment, built environment, and the sets of relationships between them, not only about nature or humans both (each sphere operates independently) Environmental studies are interdisciplinary and cross disciplinary. Environmental science is concerned more with the physical dimension of nature, and less with the human dimension. The malthusian catastrophe vs. moore"s law and knowledge acceleration: our belief that knowledge will win over population is part of the story, but it may be false. Think planet: bushfires destroy buildings as heatwave melts highway surface. Complexity and interactions: starfish eating the great barrier reef. Economic instruments: uk needing disposable coffee cups to cut waste. Inequality: toronto homeless at risk in weather.
