Ethnicity: polite way to speak about race, common origin and cultural similarities. Imagined communities - benedict anderson: notion of community is an act of the imagination, drawing boundaries, tries hard to eliminate divisions among the people. Imagined communities can be an act of the imagination. Hybridity occurs in contact zones: contact zones create an environment for conflict, mathany and menreo. Displacement of people from geographical points of origin, scattering or people diaspora dispersal of people from a common point of origin. Colonial hybridity: result of cultural imperialism, attempting to europeanise aboriginal peoples, mimicry: maintains the status quo, but also disrupts of challenges ir, upholding white supremacy. Radical hybridity: anti colonial strategy, used by the colonized people to fight, use their own value system.
