Strong winds, chinook (strong warm and dry winds), alberta clippers (strong frigid winds) Vegetation and soil vary from north south. Non-native history dates to hudson bay fur trading. Red-river settlement: originally by scottish people, significant m tis population focusing on farming and hunting.
