No fear for safety as victim then it is not criminal. Harassment that leads to police involvement is criminal. Resulting in a risk or harm to the senior. Any act of violence causing injury or discomfort. Includes: punching, slapping, rough handling, gestures of violence, forcible restraint, over or under medication. Any action or comment causing fear, emotional anguish. Includes: threats to harm, unwanted institutionalization, harassment. abandonment, removal of decision making ability. Bruising in odd places (inside thigh, groin, etc. ) Caregiver speaking on behalf of person and not allowing privacy. Standard of living not in keeping with income/assets. Forged signature on cheques or cheques made out to cash . Unusual banking activity; large withdrawals or new loans. Bills from merchants/stores not likely to be frequented by the senior (ie; electronics)
