No knowledge of south africa or the americas: demographics: drastic size change, bubonic plague (mid 1300s) population decreased by >33% 80 to 50 million in about 30 years. 1500: 70 million people in europe, less competition, end of feudalism: most people lived in france: 16 million) Low countries (2 million, increased concentration of people)
