Alternative medicine is a form of integrative medicine, which integrates ideal approaches from integrative and complementary medicine. Encompasses medical interventions and diagnostic treatment options that are not typically covered in medical school. Naturopathy: broader term used to encompass a variety of different treatment forms (ie. clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine, homeopathy, and counselling). Homeopathy: distinct form of medicine that looks at assisting the body"s natural healing mechanisms towards health. Will cause same symptoms in healthy person as expressed by the infected person. Remedies used are diluted medicines: complementary and alternative medicine. Integrative medicine is a blend of the best of both conventional/traditional, and complementary/ alternative medicine. Alternative medicine: things typically not studied in medical school (ie. nutrition, supplements and herbs, acupuncture, mind/body medicine, and energy medicine) The ideal way to practice integrative medicine is with several different practitioners. The bene ts of this alternative option can be compared to more tools in the toolbox .
