HSS 3105 Lecture Notes - Lecture 7: Global Health, Procedural Justice
Document Summary
Geographic: cannot address these issues individually, you have to address them globally ex. climate change, drug traf cking. Everyone should have a fair opportunity to attain their full health potential. No one should be disadvantaged from achieving this potential if it can be avoided. Health justice: here they are not concerned with differences that cannot be changed ie. old people will walk differently than you people. They are only concerned with avoidable differences. Pluralism: situation in with people of diff social classes, races, religion are living together in society but can continue to practice their own traditions and interests. Hence pluralists regard morality to be local however they acknowledge that their is worth in co existing. We are all citizens of the world and we all have a global health duty. Anti-cosmopolitanism: morality is so individual based that it"s hard to come up with a consensus.
