Two principles of justice: the liberty principle, the di erence principle. John rawls is an important gure in international political theory. Rawls is a contractarian scholar but what makes him di erent is his emphasis on justice and moral agency. There were two streams of liberalism in late 19th century: social liberalism and neoliberalism. Liberalism: individual consent, and duty for justice the harm principle. Rawls revived normative political philosophy, and rescued it from those reductionist perspectives. This attempt formed analytic political philosophy of justice (1960-2000)
