(2) the control of thought in abrahamic religions. Social practice": how people go about day to day life, something that is reoccurring, things that are taken as a given. What is a religion: corpus of beliefs and practices of which the adherence to is required to belong to a community. It implies texts that are transmitted and are considered intrinsic through the belief system: etimologies of religio: re lego, re ligare. What distinguishes it from a sect or movement: a sect is a group which is cut off from the mainstream set of beliefs or practices, etimologies: sequi, secare. Recognition of abraham (c. 1800 bce 1600 bce) as the common patriarchal spiritual founder along with his sons isaac and grandson jacob. He was the descendant of noah, who was a descendent of adam, the first man created by god. The prophet muhammad (c. 570-632 ce) is a descendent of them.
