Identify assumptions underlying the post-positivist, critical and interpretive/constructivist views of research. Describe the relationships among theory, research and practice. Discuss levels of abstraction related to frameworks guiding research. Describe the points of critical appraisal used to evaluate the appropriateness, cohesiveness and consistency of a framework guiding research. Can identify the knowledge gap and ask questions from experts in the field of nurses on the floor you work with (depends on the topic) May not be any knowledge out there about a certain topic. Deciding whether there are qualitative or quantitative methods to answers those questions. Sharing the problems via presentations; conferences poste presentations on ongoing studying that are completed but not yet published; obtaining knowledge on how it is being moved through the system to be known by other nurses. Bringing it into practice may require protocols, require money to begin doing that.
